Ms. Barkowski grew up in Northern California, the youngest of five children. Smaller and quieter then the rest, she found it easier to put her thoughts on paper than to make herself heard. So began her lifelong devotion to the written word.
A graduate of UC Berkeley, VR is a recovering sociologist with a passion for literature, travel, music, and museums. She resides just outside Atlanta with her family.
